APRIL 2026 UPDATE

Hope everyone has a happy and enjoyable Easter with family and friends.

The club is run solely by volunteers and has done so for more than 50 years so volunteer help is always needed! Here are some upcoming special events.  Spring Cleanup Day will be on Saturday, May 23 from 9 until noon (with a light lunch being served at noon for volunteers). This event is when club members gather together to lend a hand to spruce up the facility and sweep away the cobwebs and "stuff" winter has left behind. Come for an hour or two, whatever you can manage and bring your work gloves and favorite work tools to help with inside and outside chores. Your help will be much appreciated.  Please call the club and sign up for your preference (inside or outside or a bit of both). The club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held May 28 from 1:30 - 2:30. All members are encouraged to attend this meeting that is specifically for members to approve the 2025 Financial Summary, elect the Board of Directors to carry out the business of the organization and to provide input and program suggestions for 2026 - 2027. Members are needed to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors. If you are interested, please contact the club and become part of the team of volunteers to fill this very important function to ensure the club remains vibrant and effective in serving the needs of seniors in the community. June 18 will be the afternoon for our June Tea and Silent Auction from 2:00 - 4:00 in celebration of Seniors month. Cake and tea will be served and the Reunion Choir will entertain  at 2:30. A Salad Super is planned for July - more information to follow.

Our Seniors Community Grant has been completed as of March 30 and all aspects of the grant positively impacted the club - 3 Healthy Aging workshops and related activities including: Fall into Christmas Craft Sale, Food Handling Certification, Chair Yoga classes, First Aid for Seniors seminar, 2 meditation sessions, CPR Certification and CPR for Seniors seminar were completed. There was high participation at all activities. Thank you to all of our members and other seniors who participated and helped to promote the events. Thank you to Barbara Jones, the Workshop Coordinator, who did an excellent job organizing the workshops and related activities and to the many great volunteers who lent a hand. Our membership has grown to 230 members. Great things happen when great people are involved. The club has applied for another Seniors Community Grant so that the workshops and related activities can continue. We will know in June if that application is successful. The club has much to offer, be sure to participate and enjoy. Thank you for your support and membership!
